No hacks or mods required
There’s been a historic discovery made in the 1994 Super Nintendo release Super Punch-Out!! today.
A Twitter account known as ‘Unlisted Cheats‘ has uncovered a hidden two player mode in the game. To access this option, you’ll have to hold the ‘Y’ and ‘R’ buttons on the second player’s controller and then press ‘Start’ or the ‘A’ button on the first player’s controller.
You then select the boxer for player two and have the same player hold down the ‘B’ and ‘Y’ buttons on their controller until the match begins.
What’s also exciting about this is that it’s all on the cartridge – meaning no special hardware, accessories or hacks are required to access it. So you should be able to test it out yourself if you happen to have a copy of the original game. Otherwise, you can test it out on the Switch Online service, or in other ways.
