Sides began her softball career as a pinch runner in the first 44 games of her career before joining the Crimson Tide and playing her first game as a pitch runner versus South Alabama. On February 17, 2018, she made her career debut against Mississippi Valley State, scoring two runs, driving in three runs, and stealing a base. She began 2019 with 69 games in the Trojan Classic, where she batted 68-224 with 22 stolen bases and won four of five games versus Troy and Murray State. Against the racers, she had her best three hits, four runs scored, and two RBI. Kendell hit her first home run against Illinois, Chicago, and had three multi-hit games versus Missouri State at the Eastern Bama Bash.
On the regional stage, she got her hit in all three games, including the championship game versus Arizona State. In her junior year of 2020, she had two straight two-hit games against Washington and USF, as well as a hit in each of the five games at the eastern Bama Bash, after which she set a career-high with five RBIs against Louisville. She returned from injury in 2021 and started all three games of the Auburn series before moving on to the Kentucky series, where she had four doubles. She stole four bases at the NCAA Regional, then scored in game one of the Super Regionals versus Kentucky.
