Emergency services in Japan have responded to a fire at Nintendo’s HQ in Minami-ku, Kyoto, local media outlet NHK reports.

The article (shared and translated by VGC) states that the fire was reported at 1pm local time today, 15th August. Police at the scene state that some furniture has been damaged in one room on the building’s third floor, but nothing more significant. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported at the time of writing either.

Eight fire engines arrived at the Kyoto building after employees managed to put out the fire, which is thought to have started in a room on the third floor. At the moment, emergency services are investigating the scene to determine the cause of the fire, but early findings suggest that it was caused by a charging device.

We’re glad that everyone working in the building appears to be safe.
