Who Is Hyunjin Skz?

Hwang Hyunjin Skz is the South Korean dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist and visual of the group. He is also one of the members of the Stray Kids group. On 20 March 2000, he was born in Seongnae-dong, Gandong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Hyunjin did his education in an Elementary Kindergarten in Las Vegas, Nevada. And he enrolled in the School of Performing Arts in Seoul. After that, Hyunjin was scouted by JYP Entertainment to become a trainee. When he was a trainee, he appeared in the reality show Stray Kids along with other group members. Then he debuted with Stray Kids by releasing the group’s first album, ‘I am NOT’. He also did a lead single called District 9. Then in 2018, Hyunjin promoted mini-albums in the I am trilogy, such as I am, Who? and I am YOU. By December 2020, he released a song, ‘Little Star’.

Hyunjin had been suspended from working in the Stray Kids group. This is because of what happened back in February 2021. According to the online source, someone came forward on social media and said that Hyunjin had been verbally abusive in middle school. Since JYP Entertainment had signed him, they conducted an investigation about Hyunjin to his former teachers and classmates. Later, JYP Entertainment released a statement saying that Hyunjin would be taking some time to self-reflect and stay away from all his celebrity activities. And the agency also said that he might have hurt people in his middle school with his rough and unsuitable words, and he sincerely regrets and apologises for hurting others. And finally, the agency asked the public not to spread rumours about the matter since the memories of that time are entirely different. Now, Hyunjin has apologised for his actions in middle school, and even he shared a handwritten statement on Instagram.

Back in February 2021, Hyunjin had taken a break till July since he had been the reason for his bullying actions during middle school. Even the agency, in their statement, mentioned that Hyunjin will be taking some time for self-reflecting and will stay halt from his celebrity activities. Recently, Hyunjin has been searching for what happened to Hyunjin Skz during his group’s World Tour for their MANIC performance at the Oakland show in California. According to online sources, he had injured his hand when he bumped his right hand on a door and sustained a minor injury. Because of this, he would not be able to participate in the Oakland show for a few days with his group members for their album.
