After months of anticipation ahead of its release on June 16th, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has proven to be a monumental success, selling over one million copies after just one week.

“Publisher Dotemu (branch of the Focus Entertainment Group) and developer Tribute Games, in partnership with Nickelodeon, today announced more than 1 million copies of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredderโ€™s Revenge have been sold after one week, as fans celebrate the long-awaited return of classic TMNT beat-em-up action.”

Dotemu also posted the milestone in a tweet and thanked fans for their support, along with Nickelodeon and developer Tribute Games for making the game happen.

Tribute Games’ co-founder Jean-Francois Major also had the following to say:

โ€œTribute Games set out to make the ultimate celebration of a chapter in TMNT history that means the world to us, and itโ€™s been wonderful to watch the accessible fun of beat-em-ups resonate with longtime fans and genre newcomers alike. Weโ€™re thankful for all of the support and encouragement the passionate TMNT community has shown us since the reveal of TMNT: Shredderโ€™s Revenge, and we look forward to watching players continue to discover the easter eggs weโ€™ve hidden throughout the game while chaining together some bodacious combos.โ€

Keep in mind, of course, that Shredder’s Revenge became available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, which makes the accomplishment even more impressive. It also helps that it’s a ruddy good game; we gave it a 9/10 in our review and called it “best Turtles beat ’em up ever made”.
