When Michael was two years old, Suzanne was killed in a suspicious hit-and-run accident. Before her death, she got married to Franklin Delano Floyd, which made him put Michael in foster care. Then he got adopted by his foster parents, Ernest and Merle Bean. It was then that Michael got kidnapped by Franklin Delano Floyd when he was in his first grade at Indian Meridian Elementary School in Oklahoma.

On 12 September 1994, Michael Hughes, who was in Grade 1 at Indian Meridian Elementary School in Choctaw, Oklahoma, was kidnapped by Franklin Delano Floyd, who claims that he was Michael’s biological father. During that time, Floyd went inside the school and forced the principal James Davis to take him to Michael’s classroom at gunpoint. Forced by this, Floyd took Michael and James in a truck, made James handcuffed in a tree, and left the city; later, he rescued him. After two months, Floyd was arrested in Louisville, Kentucky; by that time, Michael was not with him, and no one had seen him since then. According to many reports and claims by Floyd, he made Michael drown in a bathtub in a Georgia motel, buried his body in a cemetery, and said he was still alive and safe. Still, he’s not revealing the whereabouts of the boy, Michael. In 2015, the FBI claimed that Floyd killed Michael the same day he kidnapped him by shooting on his back head twice. In 2024, Netflix is coming up with true stories and events in a movie named ‘Girl In The Picture,’ the movie based on the tragic life of Sharon Marshall and Michael Hughes.

Who Was Michael Hughes Father?

According to many sources, Franklin Delano Floyd claims to be Michael Hughes’s father. But during a routine blood test, Michael and Floyd do not have any DNA connections, and he was not his biological father. It was a time that the court even denied his claim for wanting custody over Michael Hughes. When Floyd left Michael in foster care, Michael Hughes was adopted by Ernest and Merle Bean as his foster parents.

Michael Hughes was just a six-year-old boy when he went missing on 12 September 1994, and since then, he has been nowhere to be found. After the death of Suzanne, who claims to be Michael’s biological father, Franklin Delano Floyd, left Michael in foster care and left the state. After six months, he again claimed to get custody of Michael but denied his request. Because of this, Floyd kidnapped Michael Hughes from his elementary school in 1994. Finally, after two months, Floyd got arrested in Louisville, Kentucky. Since then, there have been no details about Michael Hughes’s whereabouts.

According to Floyd’s confessions, Floyd claims that he made Michael Michael drown in a bathtub in a Georgia motel, then buried his body in a cemetery and also said he was still alive and safe.
