Today’s Splatoon 3 Direct revealed a whole bunch of new details about the upcoming splatter, including new amiibo and the announcement of a pre-release Splatfest, but it also revealed the new hosts who will introduce the stages when you fire up the game — and this time it’s a trio.
Replacing Pearl and Marina from Splatoon 2, Deep Cut is the musical outfit that will be giving you the details once you get past the title screen of the new entry. Continuing the series’ trend of musical hosts — with the ‘Squid Sisters’ Callie and Marie acting as presenters in the first game, Deep Cut is made up of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man.

Deep cut will have their work cut out for them if they’re going to overtake fan-favourites Pearl and Marina in the popularity stakes. But hey, if they can cut down their pre-match jabber — or even make it skippable! — they could well shoot straight to the top of our charts!
