Ryan Bingham was born on 31st March 1981 in Hobbes, New Mexico, England. He is American by nationality and his ethnicity is not known. The name given to him at the time of birth was George Ryan Bingham. By profession, Ryan Bingham is an actor, a singer as well as a songwriter. He works with many varieties of music genres.  He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. 

Early Life and Career

Hobbes was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, and spent his childhood across the Southwestern United States. He finished his schooling at Westfield High School and university education at Tarleton State University in his hometown. He joined as a bull rider in a rodeo circuit when he was very young. From there he set out on his own at a young age. Bringham was gifted a guitar for the first time by his mother when he was 16 years old.  He learned music through the guitar gifted to him. He initially would play rodeos for his peers and started playing in other places such as bars set around the West eventually. This landed him in Los Angeles. The first deal signed by Bingham was with the Lost Highway Records in 2007.

Bingham decided to collaborate with T Bone Burnett, the producer who had won the Grammy awards of the 2009 soundtrack of the renowned film Crazy Heart after he received critical feedback from the first two studio releases of his, on Mescalito in 2009 and Lost Highway Records in. He had co-written and also performed the theme song of the movie which won awards, ‘The Weary Kind’. This title track accelerated his popularity and led him to win the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and 2010’s Critics’ Choice Award for “Best Song”.  He even won the Grammy Award in the year 2011 for “Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media”. Bingham was honored by the Americana Music Association and he was awarded “Artist of the Year”, 2010 which was considered to be the organization’s most respectable and highly valued award. 

Bingham had already released one live album and six studio albums by 2019. Four of the albums out of the 7 albums were released under his own label i.e. Axster Bingham Records. The most recent album of Bingham was released on the 15th of February in 2019 namely ‘American Love Song’. He has released a total of 7 albums and 7 singles to date. 

Family and Personal Life

Bringham’s father committed suicide while his mother died due to too much consumption of alcohol. The song ‘Never Far Behind’ belonging to the album Tomorrowland was dedicated to his parents.  No further information has been revealed about his family or siblings. Bingham filed divorce from Anna Axster, his wife, on 29th June 2021. The divorce was issued after they lived 12 years of married life. The Topanga Canyon home which was bought by the couple for $1.36 million in the year 2013 and belonged to the couple formerly, came to be known to have been sold off at $2.45 million in 2021. Bingham and Axster were parents to three children. The first child was expected in 2015 as announced by the popular singer in his Austin, Texas performance in the year 2015, on March 5th.
