Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been wowing fans across the world since its release just over a week ago, and it sounds like we’ve got more to look forward to in the years ahead.

Nintendo Everything has reported that in an email sent to Japanese customers, Nintendo shared a message from Monolith Soft’s founder — Tetsuya Takahashi — about the future of the series, as well as a handy tip, and a very big thank you. Translated by Kim Louise Davis on behalf of Nintendo Everything, Takahashi has provided a little hint as to what Xenoblade Chronicles 3 means for the series going forward.

There are minor overall Xenoblade series spoilers in the snippet below, so just be careful!

“[Xenoblade Chronicles 3] is also a stopping point to me. This title depicts the conclusion of the Xenoblade story that began with Klaus’s experiment.

While it is a conclusion, that does not mean it is the end of the Xenoblade series. It is just a stopping point in my mind. I think that everyone who played this title and the additional stories in the Expansion Pass can imagine what lies in the future for Xenoblade.”

Essentially, this third mainline game is the end of a story arc for the series, which kicked off with 2010’s Xenoblade Chronicles. This includes Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Expansion Pass story, Torna – The Golden Country. Of course, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is getting its own Expansion Pass story content sometime next year, so even forgetting about what will happen after this arc, we still have plenty more Xenoblade ahead of us.
