The Rock was one of the biggest names in WWE when he ventured into Hollywood. The Tribal Chief is currently the biggest name in pro wrestling and he may be in line to make the switch that his cousin made many years ago.
The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is in the middle of a dream run in WWE. He is currently the WWE Universal Champion. The former Shield member achieved the feat after defeating Brock Lesnar in a highly-anticipated Title Unification match at WrestleMania 38.
Reigns has not been pinned for 871 days. His reign as the Universal Champion began at the 2020 Payback pay-per-view when he defeated Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a triple-threat match. Reigns has been the Universal Champion for 617 days now and it is the longest that someone has held that title.
Both the men’s world titles are with the Head of the Table at the moment and his popularity is evident from the fact that in the month of April, he was the most searched wrestling personality according to a new study from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.
During a recent house show in Trenton, New Jersey, Reigns bid goodbye to the fans who’ve given him so much love throughout his career. He said: “I’ve been here a couple of times in the past ten years. I’m starting to work into a new phase in my career, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back here again. If that’s the case, I just wanna say thank you for all these years of support.”
While there’s no clear indication that Reigns gave this message because he is destined for Hollywood. However, if the speculations circulating around are believed, the official announcement might not be far away.
Roman Reigns’ title wins in WWE
Roman Reigns is one of the most decorated wrestlers currently signed to the WWE.
Reigns is a four-time WWE Champion and a two-time Universal Champion. He has also held the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Champion on one occasion each.
The 36-year-old is a former one-time Tag Team Champion as well alongside Seth Rollins. Reigns is also the twenty-eighth Triple Crown Champion and a Royal Rumble winner.
It will certainly be a huge loss for Vince McMahon’s company if Reigns wishes to focus on a career in Hollywood.
