It is now being heavily speculated that John Cena returns at Summerslam to face off against Austin Theory.
John Cena has enthralled the WWE Universe for many years. Now that his appearances in WWE are few and far between, fans wait in the hope to see the Hollywood star return to the squared circle and mesmerize.
His last appearance was at SummerSlam 2021. He lost against Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match. There were speculations of Cena featuring at WrestleMania 38 but it didn’t come to fruition.
Brad Shepard reported on his Unleashed Patreon, that there’s a chance the leader of Cenation might make his comeback by the second half of 2023.
“I spoke with a source in WWE today, and they told me John Cena is expected back in late June of this year. I don’t have a more specific time frame or the creative plan yet. But I do know he’ll be showing his face.”
This is some great news for the many fans of Cena. They would be waiting with bated breath to see the great man step into the ring once again. According to rumors, John Cena might be returning at Summerslam to challenge Austin Theory for the United States championship.
Booker T picks a WWE Superstar who he thinks could become the next John Cena
John Cena is a generational talent and will go down in history as one of the best to have stepped through the ropes. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T picked one wrestler who could get close to the legendary status that Cena has achieved.
While speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about the potential of the current WWE United States Champion Austin Theory. He also discussed why WWE Owner Vince McMahon is backing Theory to become a big name in WWE shortly.
“He’s a guy that, you know, let’s just say, a company guy. There’s nothing wrong with that. John Cena was a company guy, a guy that was willing to go out and get the work done no matter whether it was winning or losing. I’m going to go out here and I’m going to get the job done. Whether it’s promoting sales, whatever, I’m going to get the job done. I see a guy like Theory being cut from that same mode. So when he won the U.S. championship, it’s the beginning of the rise of Austin Theory.”
Theory has got the talent and if he can keep his focus and dedication, sky is the limit for him.
