Segato is often remembered on social media as “Valdir Synthol” as the audience has known him for his prolonged usage of Synthol injections to bulk up. However, it’s unknown at the moment if the oil-related complications played a role in his death.

How did Valdir “Synthol” Segato Die?
Valdir Segato had a massive following on TikTok. However, he lived an isolated life only with a few friends or visitors. One of his neighbors, Moisés da Conceição da Silva told Brazil’s Globo News that Segato rented a properly built behind his family’s house.
On the day of his death, he was complaining about shortness of breath. “It was around 6 am, more or less. He came crawling through the back house and came to the front. Then he knocked on my mother’s window, knocked, knocked, then she woke up and he said ‘Help me, help me because I’m dying” Da Silva told in a statement.
After that, the Brazilian Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) took Segato to the nearby medical facility of UPA Nelson Mandela- UPA Norte. Upon reaching there, he reportedly fell at the reception. Segato seemingly suffered a heart attack.
Later, Doctors took him for treatment and he was pronounced dead soon. His body was then taken for the last rites. No autopsy was done as there wasn’t any foul play involved.
What was Valdir Segato’s cause of death?
Valdir Segato likely suffered a cardiac arrest due to his imbalanced lifestyle involving potentially risking habits such as injecting Synthol, using Steroids, and other substances. He was offered the oil once in the gym and then he got hooked on it.
However, there isn’t a confirmation if the substance abuse played a role in his death. No autopsy was done on the TikTok star’s body as his death was marked as ‘natural’. He died on July 26, 2024, in Ribeirão Preto, southeast Brazil.
His body has already been buried in Bom Pastor Cemetry. The burial took place the day after his demise. This means we can only speculate on the real cause of death. Heart attack is the most probable cause of Valdir Segato’s death.
Who was Valdir Segato?
Valdir Segato was a Brazilian construction worker and TikTok star based in Sau Paolo, Brazil. He was impressively popular on various social media platforms as “Valdir Synthol.” This nickname came from his use of Synthol oil to obtain an excessively bulky appearance.
He started working as a construction worker after moving to Ribeirão Preto. In his younger days, he got addicted to drugs and became so thin that people started calling him names like “skinny dog” and “little skull.”
After that, joined a Gym and started working seriously on his physique. Someone then introduced him to Synthol oil and told him he could get more extreme effects from it, even better than Weight Lifting. He started injecting his muscles with Synthol oil for a long period.
He grew his biceps from 12 inches to 23 inches in a very short span of time. Segato called the bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzennegger and the fictional character Hulk his inspiration. He once said in an interview:
“They call me Hulk, Schwarzenegger, and He-Man all the time and I like that. I’ve doubled my biceps, but I still want to be bigger.”
He also spoke about his past in the interview. “I got involved with drugs and I started losing weight because you don’t eat… You lead a wrong life,” he said. No information about his survivors is available at the time of writing.
Why did Valdir Segato inject Synthol into his muscles?
Valdir Segato regularly injected Synthol oil into his muscle to gain a bulky appearance. The oil’s constituents enable the substance’s abuse in bodybuilders to achieve a voluminous look. However, it doesn’t promote muscle growth and doesn’t provide strength either.
It’s only for superficial use and Segato, with his massive following on TikTok, used it to entertain his followers. He was a construction worker but also earned a good living from TikTok. That’s why he never stopped fake pumping his muscles.
In 2016, doctors advised him to stop using Synthol oil and made him aware of the risks like amputation, nerve damage, or muscle disfigurement. However, he didn’t stop and continued to inject his muscles.
