Who Is Still Alive From The Monkees Band?

According to an official survey, one of the famous American 60s rock bands, The Monkees band’s Singer Micky Dolenz, is still alive. American Singer George Micky Dolenz Jr. was born on March 8, 1945. George is an American actor, musician, and producer. George is famous as the vocalist and drummer for the 1960s Pop-rock Monkees band and a co-star of the famous TV series The Monkees in 1966. After the death of singer  Michael Nesmith in 2021, Dolenz became the band’s sole surviving member. Micky was born at the Cedars primary Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles, California, the son of actors George Dolenz and Janelle Johnson. He has three sisters, Gemma Marie Deborah, and Kathleen.

1. Davy Jones

American singer David Thomas Jones was born on 30 December 1945 and died on 29 February 2012. He was an English actor and singer. He is a member of the Monkees band and a co-star of the TV series The Monkees in 1966, Jones was considered a teen idol. With his great work on The Monkees TV show, Jones’ acting credits include a Tony-nominated performance as a character the Artful Dodger in the original London and Broadway productions of Oliver and hallway broadway and a guest-starring role in a hallmark episode of The Brady Bunch television show.

2. Michael Nesmith

Singer Robert Michael Nesmith was born on December 30, 1942, and died on December 10, 2021. He was an American musician, songwriter, actor, and producer. He was a member of the Monkees band’s pop-rock band and an actor in the TV series The Monkees from 1966 to 1968. His songwriting skills include the Different Drum song, which became a hit for the movie Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys tv show. After the break-up of the Monkees band, Nesmith continued his successful songwriting and performing career, first with the seminal country-rock group the First National Band, with whom he had a top forty Joanne song, and then as a solo artist. He often played a custom-built Gretsch twelve-string electric with the Monkees and afterward.

3. Peter Tork 

Singer Peter Halsten Thorkelson was born on February 13, 1942, and died on February 21, 2019. He was an American musician, composer, and actor best known as the keyboardist and bass guitarist of the Monkees band and a co-star of The Monkees series in 1966. Tork grew up in Connecticut and the 1960s as part of the Greenwich Village folk scene in New York City, he started work with musician Stephen Stills. When he moved to Los Angeles with Stills, he was recruited for the musical television sitcom The Monkees. The show’s success made him a teen idol from 1966 to 1968.

4. Micky Dolenz
