In the immortal words of Jack Black, you can’t kill The Metal. The Metal will live on. Metal is one of the most powerful, enduring genres of music, and anything that incorporates it is automatically awesome. You know what would be really awesome, though? Gunning down demons from Hell to the beat of a metal soundtrack. Luckily, that’s exactly what Metal: Hellsinger is. So, when does Metal: Hellsinger release?

Metal: Hellsinger is scheduled to release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam this month on Thursday, September 15th, 2024. The game will cost $39.99 USD, and pre-orders are open now on the Microsoft and PlayStation Stores. In fact, if you pre-order the game, you’ll actually get access to it a whole 48 hours early on September 13th at no extra charge.

If you’re not already sold on the idea of a rhythm-based FPS backed by a kick-awesome metal soundtrack, then first of all, you probably don’t listen to as much Tenacious D as I do. But secondly, if you want to take Metal: Hellsinger for a spin, there’s a demo available on all three platforms that provides a solid taste of the gameplay and mechanics.

Hype is already pouring in for this one; at this year’s Gamescom presentation, Metal: Hellsinger won the award for Most-Wanted PC Game. IGN‘s Ryan McCaffrey called the game “the Doom-Rock Band mashup I didn’t know I needed.”
