Will the Mother of Dragons appear in HBO’s newest show?

Wondering if Emilia Clarke will be on HBO’s Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon? We’ll tell you everything you need to know about her character’s role in the story and what the actress has previously said about the prequel.

Is Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon? Answered

Because House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke’s character, Daenerys Targaryen, will not be in this latest show. Moreover, if you look at HBO’s cast listings, you won’t find the actress’s name there, along with any other past members of the popular series.

The story’s premise will still reveal more information about House Targaryen, the Mother of Dragon’s ancestors. In the trailer, we see her relatives: Rhaenyra, Daemon, Viserys, and many others, as they fight against each other for the legendary Iron Throne. Like Daenerys, Rhaenyra believes that she should be the Queen of Westeros, despite everyone’s issues with her being a woman and Daemon’s quest for power.

Besides the two relatives’ common goals, they also have very similar facial characteristics, including the trademark Targaryen hair, sharp eyebrows, and blue eyes. As a result, many fans had to do a double take when looking at the princess in the trailer since she almost looks identical to Emilia’s version.

Last year, the Hollywood Reporter asked Emilia Clarke if it was weird to see some new faces of the Targaryens, and she replied, “It’s very surreal.” She continues about how Daenerys’ storyline didn’t have other family members present, so it was exciting for her to see the character’s ancestors in the show’s previous stills.

Although Clarke may not be on the show, she has advised the latest cast by telling them not to dye their hair blonde as she had done for GOT’s final season. She also wishes them well with series and states, “But good luck to them is what I would say. I mean that.”

Now that you know Emilia Clarke is not in Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon, you can see what happens in the latest adventure once it releases.
