Alec Bohm is a professional baseball third baseman from America. He plays for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. His real name is Alec Daniel Bohm. He was born and brought up in Omaha, Nebraska. Alec Bohm had been a standout hitter for Roncalli Catholic High School. But he was not selected in the 2015 MLB Draft.

What Happened To Alec Bohm?

Alec Bohm was injured in his left ring finger sliding headfirst into second base in the second inning of a 6-1 loss to the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. It made the Phils and Cards back into a tie for the third NL Wild Card spot. Alec Bohm twisted his left hand sliding hard into the bag. When he looked up, his ring finger pointed towards his left pinky.  “It’s broken,” he told Phillies first-base coach Paco Figueroa at the time.

The famous star Alec Bohm got a serious injury on his left hand, but he escaped from a major hand injury. The ring finger of his left hand was dislocated, while he dived into the second base. At that time, he tried to stretch a single into a double in the second innings. The cameras covered the situation when he was injured. He temporarily came out from the game, due to his pain. He held his left hand very close to the body.  But the X-rays showed his left hand was not broken. The team Phillies has two players on the injured list with broken bones in their hands. They are Jean Segura and Bryce Harper.

Alec Bohm Age

Alec Bohm was born on 3rd August 1996, in Omaha, Nebraska. Currently, he is 25 years old. He is the son of parents Dan and Lisa Bohm.  Alec was a power hitter for the Roncalli Catholic baseball team in Omaha, when he was in High School. Alec Bohm took part in the All-Star Futures Game in 2019. He started the 2020 season at an alternate training site after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season. After the Phillies called Alec Bohm from the training site in August, he completed the season as an everyday third baseman. 

Alec Bohm Career

Alec Bohm has played collegiate summer baseball in both the Coastal Plain League and the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Phillies had chosen Alec third overall in the 2018 MLB draft, then Alec signed with the team that June. The Phillies tried to have him reach Class A, by the end of 2018. But it was delayed due to a knee injury. Alec Bohm tried to remain in Nebraska for college, but he was not selected by the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He accepted a scholarship offer to play baseball in college for the Wichita State Shockers.
