Kroy Biermann is an American football outside linebacker born Kroy Evan Biermann. Kim Zolciak, a reality television star, is also well-known to him as his spouse. In 2008, he began his professional career with the Atlanta Falcons, and he has enjoyed a successful football career since his collegiate days.

Early Life of Kroy Biermann

On September 12, 1985, Kroy Evan Biermann was born in Hardin, Montana. He lettered eight times at Hardin High School, three times in football, three times in wrestling, and two times in track and field. His parents are Keith and Kathy, and his elder sisters are Krista and Kelsey, hence he hails from a K-named family. In his Grizzly career, Biermann played outside linebacker and defensive end. 

In 52 games played at Montana, he had 220 tackles, 32 sacks, 45 tackles for a loss, nine forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries. During his freshman year, he appeared in 14 of 15 games. He appeared in all 12 games during his sophomore year, 14 games during his junior year, and 12 games during his senior year. Montana’s first Buck Buchanan Award winner, Biermann earned the honor in 2007. Atlanta Falcons drafted Biermann 154th overall in their fifth-round draft of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Career of Kroy Biermann

In Week 13 of his rookie season, Kroy Biermann had his first career NFL sack against the San Diego Chargers. The Saint Louis Rams were the opponent against which he recorded his second sack of the season. During the opening game of the 2009 season, he registered two sacks, a forced fumble, and a holding penalty. In a Monday night game against New Orleans on November 2, 2009, he scored his first NFL touchdown. Drew Brees’ fumble was recovered by him.

He returned the ball 41 yards for his second touchdown almost exactly a year later, tipped a pass from Jake Delhomme. He tore his Achilles tendon in September 2013 and missed the remainder of the season. In March 2015, after enduring Achilles tendon surgery, Biermann agreed to sign a one-year $1.925 million contract. He was set to release by the Falcons in mid-August 2016 and signed with the Buffalo Bills for a one-year contract. After two weeks, the Bills released him. 

The Buck Buchanan Award went to Kroy Biermann in 2007. In the same year, he was named the Big Sky Conference’s Defensive Most Valuable Player. He was twice awarded to the very first All-Big Sky team and the Little All-American team.

Personal Life of Kroy Biermann

Biermann met his future wife, Kim Zolciak, while performing in a Dancing Stars of Atlanta charity event in May 2010. The purpose of the charity event was to generate funds for Alzheimer’s disease research. The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s third season featured their first encounter.
