The IInspiration takes an indefinite break from in-ring action

The IInspiration is a tag-team comprising Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay who used to compete recently in Impact Wrestling. They wrestled in WWE under the names Peyton Royce and Billie Kay and their team was known as The IIconics.

Lee and McKay signed for Impact Wrestling in October and were two of the top superstars on the female roster. They became the first and only women’s tag team in history to hold both the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and also the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Championships.

The duo was released from WWE in April last year. In a surprising turn of events, the two best friends have imported IMPACT Wrestling that they want to take some time off from the sport.

In a post shared by Cassie, the IMPACT Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore said, “The IInspiration have been a great part of IMPACT’s Knockouts roster and wonderful to work with,” and this is great praise for the charismatic tag team.

The IInspiration also released a joint statement: “We first want to thank Scott D’Amore and the entire IMPACT family. “We have had such an amazing experience, working with the incredible IMPACT staff and roster. We will cherish these IMPACT memories forever. We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and explore other opportunities that may come our way.”

They made their WWE debut on 8 May 2015 on NXT and were used as jobbers on house shows. They moved on to the main roster in 2018 and their biggest moment in WWE came at WrestleMania 35 when they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

By virtue of that win, they became the first all-Australian tag team champions in WWE history. They also became the first Australians to win a title at WWE’s flagship event.

After joining IMPACT Wrestling last year, they won the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship in their debut match. We wish the duo all the very best in their future endeavors.
