Nikkita Lyons has been quite impressive since making her debut earlier this year on NXT 2.0. She has been appreciated by the fans and is currently participating in the Women’s NXT Breakout Tournament, where she has reached the semi-finals after defeating Arianna Grace in the first round.
The 22-year-old has also been involved in a feud with Natalya, who appeared on NXT a few weeks ago. Natalya and Lyons have not had a one-on-one match as yet but they have had a brawl during a tag team match at NXT Spring Breakin’. Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons teamed up to take on Natalya and Lash legend. Jade and Lyons got the victory in the match but fans loved seeing Natalya and Lyons going head-to-head.
Lyons was the special guest in a recent episode of the Out of Character podcast. Ryan Satin asked the youngster about her experience working with the Queen of Harts.
Lyons called Natalya wonderful and the sweetest person. She also revealed later on that the veteran had texted her to know how her knee was doing after their match. Lyons said she was grateful and would love to be able to work with the third-generation wrestler once again.
“Oh my goodness! She is wonderful and she is the sweetest person and I’m just grateful and she followed me too so that’s another one. You know, after working with her, put it this way she checked on me later, I’m sorry she texted me this morning to see how my knee was doing. That is so like she is such a sweetheart and so great to work with and I just loved working with her and I can’t wait to do it again if I have that opportunity.”
Natalya’s advice for Nikkita Lyons
Natalya is someone who many female superstars look up to. Her in-ring acumen and years of experience make her the perfect mentor for the talented upstarts in WWE.
Satin asked Lyons whether the BOAT had given her any advice. Lyons revealed that Natalya loved how she was being authentic and being her true self.
“To always stay true to yourself. What she said to me that really connected with me was she loved how I am being authentic and being my true self. Because she would tell me how with her in her journey, she was told you need to do this and that and whatever. But she was telling me to keep being me and that advice right there was kind of confirmation of continue on this path that you’re doing no matter how many you know, I might get hate comments and I get people that are saying, ‘oh she is only popping because of this and that.’ But in reality, I know that the hard work in grinding that has transpired throughout my life. You know it’s paying off. So hearing that from a legend like Natalya is absolutely like a dream come true.”
