Shayna Baszler reacts to Dakota Kai’s release from WWE

Dakota Kai was one of the 10 NXT Superstars to be released from their WWE contracts this week.

WWE has released a number of superstars over the last couple of years ever since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Popular main roster superstars like Nia Jax, Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Ruby Riott, Andrade, Samoa Joe, and many more were relieved from their duties.

Now, 10 wrestlers who were a part of WWE’s developmental brand – NXT have been released and Dakota Kai is one of the biggest surprise names to have been released. Kai is a former two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team champion. She is extremely talented and after her release, fans have showered their supportive messages for the 33-year-old.

Shayna Baszler, who is a veteran and currently plies her trade on the SmackDown brand has tweeted her praise for Kai. The two-time NXT Women’s champion hailed Kai as one of the best wrestlers she has been in the ring with. She tweeted:

“.@DakotaKai_WWE is far & away one of the best wrestlers I have ever been in the ring with. And the gap is large…..now watch it grow. #KingKota”

What’s next for Shayna Baszler in WWE?

Shayna Baszler is a two-time Women’s Tag Team champion in WWE alongside Nia Jax. She is currently in pursuit of her the Women’s Tag Team Championship once again but this time she has the “BOAT” Natalya as her partner.

Shayna Baszler and Natalya challenged Sasha Banks and Naomi for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship last week on SmackDown.

The match has been made official. The two teams will fight each other a couple of weeks later on SmackDown. If Baszler and Natalya manage to win the titles, then this would be the second time Natalya would get her hands on the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
