She started acting in college and landed roles on TV shows such as Gun Smoke, The Munsters, Catch Me When You Can, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Amy was also a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. In her early years on the show, she appeared in many episodes as herself, but later on in her career, she was known more for her role as Mrs. Parker in Parks and Recreation, which was a spin off of her previous role as the exasperated but lovable secretary in Gun Smoke.

After receiving her star on Fresh Air, Amy Poehler moved onto Broadway, playing the lead role in Waiting for Superman. She then went onto the television series Webster, a spinoff of Webster and Friends. Her Broadway appearances include Waiting For Superman and Another Man’s Son, as well as numerous other guest appearances on different shows. Amy has also appeared in several films, most notably Finding Nemo, which she both wrote and directed. She currently has several projects in development at Disney, so it should be relatively easy for Amy to move into a full-fledged director’s role at some point.
Amy’s real estate is based in Massachusetts with the family residing in California. Amy has always been fond of grapes and cheese, and she currently has a wine cellar. In September 2024, Amy purchased a 9-acre parcel of land in Connecticut with the intention of someday turning it into a home for the Pooh Bear family. In March 2024 Amy posted pictures of the property on her web site, which can be viewed here:
Besides her starring role on Parks and Recreation, Amy Poehler has also produced several movies. Her first movie that comes to mind is Bridesmaids, as well as Big Baby and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. These were released in theaters, but did not receive the kind of box office success that the studio had hoped for. Amy’s next two movies that were successful were Spy and The Perfect Score, but again did not perform to the same degree as her previous movies. However, Amy’s net worth would still raise some eyebrows, despite the fact that she only spent three years working on these movies.
Amy Poehler’s bio indicates that she is a product of Hollywood royalty. She is the daughter of a film producer and musician, and her father is the late George Clooney. Amy’s other credits include Bridesmaids, Big Baby, and The Perfect Score, so her career path may not be limited to playing the role of a loveable, although not terribly intelligent, supporting character in movies. The only way to determine if Amy Poehler’s net worth rises over the next few years will be to see how long her movies stay in theaters, and whether or not she remains in that same place in decades to come.
