Ryan’s parents divorced when she was five years old, making Ryan and her two sisters, Brooke and Ruth, the sole caretaker of the house. There was a terrible, brutal custody battle that the girls won, and Ryan was continuously fighting with her mother over custody. This information did not go over well with the people who watched the episode, as they quickly formed the opinion that Ryan Ashley Malarkey was not quite as talented as she had been pretending to be. This public relations stunt caused the internet to buzz with stories about Ryan Ashley Malarkey, as she was being painted as a talentless artist.
Ryan Ashley did not let this setback get her down, however, as she quickly put out a new single entitled, “Ryan Ashley Malarkey: New Music”, which was released just before the end of the year, featuring major label producers like Rihanna and Elton John.
