One hurt as Ena Paribahan bus ploughs into a microbus in Dhaka

The driver of the microbus was hurt after the incident took place on the capital’s Airport Road on Tuesday, according to police.

“The Sylhet-bound bus ploughed into the microbus coming from the opposite direction after breaking through the road divider,” Khilkhet Police Station Chief Russell Parvez said.

A wrecker was deployed to remove the vehicles from the road. The crash briefly halted traffic.

The microbus driver filed a case against unidentified people with Khilkhet Police Station over the incident.

Khandaker Enayetullah, the owner of Ena Paribahan, claimed that the bus was taken out secretly but he could not identify the person.

“The vehicle was scheduled to run on the night shift. The driver went to sleep after depositing the vehicle’s key to the authorities after returning from Sylhet in the morning,” said Enayetullah, also general secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association.

“Someone else took the bus out of the terminal secretly.”

The Rapid Action Battalion detained the driver who was sleeping after returning from the Sylhet trip.
