Who Is Michel Escoto, Where Is Michel Escoto Now?

Who Is Michel Escoto?

A 50-year-old man named Michael is suspected of murdering Wendy Trapaga in 2002 so he could cash in on her $1 million life insurance policy. He married Windy at Miami Beach City Hall without any witnesses. The 28-year-old woman was eager to marry him since she loved him so much. Escoto’s motives for marrying her, though, were murky. Wendy, like Wendy, didn’t see the evil intent behind it and wed Michel as soon as she could. Despite having signed a life insurance policy, she was discovered dead four days after getting married.

Where Is Michel Escoto Now?

Escoto is presently being held at the all-male Charlotte Correctional Institution in Punta Gorda, Florida. He’ll undoubtedly pass the remainder of his time there, listening to Trapaga’s relatives lament her untimely passing. Despite the fact that the crime was committed in 2002, Escoto wasn’t detained until 2005. When Escoto filed a lawsuit to obtain a $1 million life insurance policy that Trapaga had purchased when they started living together, authorities inquired about him.

Michel Escoto Arrested

For Wendy’s 2005 homicide and wrongful death, police apprehended Michael and his ex-girlfriend Yolanda Cerrillo. Myriam Benitez, the personal representative and heir of Wendy’s mother’s daughter was the one who fought for Wendy’s death to be treated appropriately. The murder trial took place over the course of two days, and David C. Miller presided. Deliberations in the trial lasted for four hours as well. The $44,000,000 settlement case was also tried in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court after being filed on September 4, 2013. The parties were Myriam Benitez and the Estate of Wendy Marie Trapaga, and Yolanda Cerrillo served as their legal representative.

Michel Escoto Ex-Girlfriend

According to Michel’s ex-girlfriend, they prepared Trapaga’s destruction. During their honeymoon, Escoto attempted to overdose Trapaga by adding crushed Percocet to her drink, then drowning her in the tub while making it appear like an accident. Trapaga had his reservations about the murky beverage, therefore the plan failed. Trapaga resisted Escoto’s attempt to drown her in the Miami Executive Airport Motel’s Jacuzzi a few days later. So, later that evening, he killed her with a tyre iron outside of a warehouse.
