Nate Diaz reacts to Justin Gaethje previewing his fight against Oliviera

UFC superstar Nate Diaz mocked Justin Gaethje’s claim that he put Khabib Nurmagomedov through hell at UFC 254

UFC 274 will feature two of the best lightweight in the world – Charles Oliveria and Justin Gaethje. Charles Oliveira has been on a dominant run in the division ever since his resurgence, and many have tipped Gaethje to be his biggest test so far.

Justin Gaethje sat down with ESPN correspondent Megan Olivi to preview his upcoming fight, and talk about his preparations, and his journey inside the octagon. Speaking about his upcoming fight with Charles, Gaethje said, “I’m gonna be perfect and I’ll be perfect for 25 minutes. If he can beat me, then kudos to him. But he’s gonna have to walk through hell like Khabib [Nurmagomedov] did. He’s not as powerful, he doesn’t have the structure, he doesn’t have the frame, and he doesn’t have explosive takedowns.”

Justin Gaethje fought for the title first at UFC 254, but lost to Khabib, who put on one of the most dominant championship display ever. UFC superstar and third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Nate Diaz has been critical about Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje tapping out to opponents, and lacking basic jiu-jitsu skills.

Reacting to Gaethje’s claim, Diaz posted an Instagram story stating, Bruh got triangle choked from mount. What he talkin bout.”

He’s ‘coming up with a lot of bullsh—t’ – Charles Oliveira is unbothered by Justin Gaethje’s mental warfare ahead of UFC 274

Oliviera made his first official title defense with a submission win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 269, and has now won his last 10 trips to the Octagon. That happens to include nine stoppages and two title fight wins.

The human highlight reel Justin Gaethje has been calling out for a fight against ‘Do Bronx’ for the longest time. He believes that he has the advantage on the feet, and contrary to naysayers who give the significant advantage on the ground to Charles, the American believes he can take the Brazilian down.

“Justin Gaethje is coming up with a lot of bullsh*t,” said Oliveira during a recent interview with Brazilian media outlet Olhar da Luta (transcription via MMA Clips Brazil). “I think that’s what he’s trying to do, to win the mind game. But that makes no difference to me. I learned that we have two ears to listen but we also have to let it out… If he thinks he can beat me in a standing fight, he can try to knock me out. If he thinks he’s a better wrestler than me, he can take me down too.”
