In March 2011, he had clinched the WBC (World Boxing Council)–NABF (North American Boxing Federation) and the WBO (World Boxing Organization)–NABO (North American Boxing Organization) featherweight titles. He had retained both these titles in June 2011 and March 2012. In January 2013, he had won the WBO and vacant The Ring featherweight titles. In November 2013, he clinched the WBO junior lightweight title and retained it in January 2014.
