Maria Vorontsova (or Mariya Vladimirovna Putina) is also referred to as Maria Faassen (last name from her husband’s name Jorrit Faassen). She is a Russian personality who is a pediatric endocrinologist. Also, she is popularly known as the eldest daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Early Life
Maria Vorontsova was born on 28th April 1985 and as of 2024, she is merely 37 years old. She was born and brought up in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, and is the eldest daughter of President Vladimir Putin and Lyudmila Putina. Maria went to Germany to complete her primary education. She studied in Dresden, East Germany where her whole family lived with her in Germany in the 1980s. After Maria’s family moved to St. Petersburg in the spring of 1991, she went to a German gymnasium called Peterschule in St. Petersburg.
Later, the violent gang wars took place in St. Petersburg involving the Tambov Gang. The gang soon started taking control of the place and the whole energy in the town. This is why the eldest daughter of President Vladimir Putin and her sister Katerina, both were sent to Germany by her father in the fear of their safety. The sisters were given to the legal guardian who was the former Stasi Matthias Warning and had worked with the president in Dresden as a part of a KGB cell.

Maria Vorontsova played violin for a Russian Consulate General of Hamburg in 1995 for the occasion of a sponsored diplomatic breakfast. After her family moved to Moscow, she went to the German School Moscow- the school which had a close association with the German Embassy in Moscow. Maria completed her education after having studied in school for 11 years. Three years later, she started studying at the university where she was enrolled along with her younger sister Katerina as a first-year student.
Maria Vorontsova went to Saint Petersburg State University and studied biology. Today, she is a graduate student of medicine at Moscow State University, from where she received her degree in 2011. Later, she became the Ph.D. candidate at the Endocrinology Research Center in Moscow while having Ivan Ivanovich Dedov as her advisor.

Maria Vorontsova is a happily married personality. She is married to her loving and caring husband Jorrit Faassen. Jorrit Faassen is a successful businessman who came into the limelight after he married the eldest daughter of President Vladimir Putin. In November 2010, Jorrit Faassen was beaten by four bodyguards, who all belonged to the Russian banker Matvey Urin, the co-owner of Trado-Bank. The co-owner was previously the head of another bank called Breeze Bank and was associated with four other Moscow banks. After half an hour of the incident, Urin was detained from his position and was later incarcerated at Butyrka.
Not only this, he was forced to lose his property, all his wealth including his vast holding. The pair, Maria and Jorrit Faassen had been living together in a penthouse atop the residential building in Voorschoten in the Netherlands. But in 2014 the Dutch residents called for Vorontsova to be expelled from the country after the suspected case of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 happened where the airline was shot down by pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine.
