The legal situation started in August 2019, when Don Lemon was accused by Dustin Hice of assaulting the latter in 2018 in a bar in Sag Harbor, New York. The complaint brought “emotional pain and suffering” due to “aggression and hostility” at the time, as per Deadline in 2019. But CNN stood by Don, with a spokesperson accusing Hice of showing “a pattern of contempt for CNN on his social media handles”.
