Carlos Alcaraz and Nikoloz Basilashvili will square off at the Madrid Open 2023 Round of 32 in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
Carlos Alcaraz’s performances and season so far ahead of Madrid Open 2023
Teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz is finding himself the centre of attention after the run he has had this season. The 18-year-old has already won three titles this season in the form of ATP 500 wins at Rio and Barcelona, as well as winning the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami.
Nikoloz Basilashvili’s performances and season so far ahead of Madrid Open 2023
Basilashvili has featured in eleven tournaments this season, but the Georgian has registered just four wins coming into the Madrid Open. The 30-year-old was unsuccessful in his bid to defend his Munich Open title last week with a straight-sets loss to in-form Miomir Kecmanovic.
Basilashvili’s poor form has stuck with him throughout this year. He also lost his other title defence to Roberto Bautista Agut in the Qatar Open final back in February.

Head to Head and Predictions
These two players have faced each other just once in the past. The match took place at the French Open last year and ended in victory for Alcaraz, who beat Basilashvili 6-4 6-2 6-4.
Heading into this contest, Alcaraz will be brimming with confidence and eager to impress in from of his home crowd once again. Our prediction is a win in three sets for the Spaniard.
