He began releasing his work in school booklets in 1982, and his first doujinshi was published in a magazine the following year.
He submitted his project Futanabi as a student at Nihon University, which earned him a nomination for Best New Author in Weekly Shnen Magazine. Miura first published a prototype of Berserk in Hakusensha’s Gekkan ComiComi in 1988, which came in second place at the 7th ComiComi’s Manga-School competition.
