Jaret Patterson began his professional career at a young age. He rushed for 2,045 yards and 23 touchdowns his senior year. In a game against Riverdale Baptist, he had 558 all-purpose yards. Patterson was named to the All-State team as an honorable mention. He has committed to play NCAA football for the Mid-American Conference’s University at Buffalo. Patterson was not as well-recruited out of high school as his twin brother James, thus the two were signed as a package deal to Buffalo.
Patterson rushed for 1,013 meters and 14 touchdowns as a rookie in 2018. He was named Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year and to the All-MAC Second Team. He returned as Buffalo’s main running back in 2019 and had the best season by a running back in school history, rushing for 1,799 yards and scoring 19 rushing touchdowns, both of which were school records. Jret led the MAC and ranked fifth in the USA in rushing yards on his way to being named to the All-MAC First Team. Patterson was named offensive MVP of the 2019 Bahamas Bowl after rushing 173 yards and scoring two touchdowns in Buffalo’s first bowl victory in program history.
