Dawn French was his former wife. He will appear in the Amazon Prime series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power while serving as Chancellor of Birmingham City University.

When Henry was aged 10 years, he started spending time with Albert Augustus “Bertie” Green (1927-2004), a different Jamaican immigrant with whom his mother had a brief relationship when she first arrived in England from their native Jamaica. Bertie was later revealed to be Henry’s biological father. Henry was given the name of the doctor who delivered him.
