Is F1 2024 video game cross platform?

F1 2024 developers, Codemasters have confirmed that the game is set to be launched for users worldwide on July 1 – is the video game cross platform?

The much-awaited F1 2024 game is set to be available next month and players can’t wait to get their hands on it! The brand new edition of the game includes the new Miami circuit plus layout changes to the likes of Australia and Abu Dhabi, F1 Sprint events and the new era of Formula 1 cars with overhauled rules. It will also include PC VR functionality via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Players have a chance to step further into the glamourous world of F1 with ‘F1 Life’ – a customisable hub to show off supercars, clothing and accessories earned via gameplay, Podium Pass and the in-game store.

However, F1 22 will unfortunately not have cross-platform playing options. This isn’t too much of a surprise given that F1 2021 doesn’t have cross-play either, as verified by Codemasters, but it is still a bit of a disappointment that Xbox, PlayStation, and PC owners of the game won’t be able to compete with one another. Cross-play is a popular feature for modern competitive games, so we can only hope that EA and Codemasters are able to incorporate it into future F1 games.

F1 2024 is now available to pre-order

Users can now pre-order the game a month before it’s officially released. By pre-ordering the Champions Edition before May 16, players will get three days of early access and a time-limited Miami-inspired content pack. Pre-order also bring with exciting bonus packs. This edition of the F1 official game sees the return of ‘My Team’ and ‘Career Mode’ with slight modifications. Codemasters have a history of launching new games in July but it’s generally the second week of July. The early release this time on July 1 definitely comes as a pleasant surprise for the players.

In the ‘My Team’ section of the game, players are now given a choice of starting budget and three entry scenarios. The 10-year career mode also returns as does the two-player career option and the epic online multiplayer mode.

The game is being portrayed as the new era of F1 gaming. “We look forward to welcoming our players to the new era of Formula 1,” said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
