Igor Vovkovinskiy, sometimes known as Igor Ladan, was a law student who was the tallest living person in the United States at the time. He stood at an above-average height of 7 feet 8 inches (234.5 cm). In 2013, Igor sang at the Eurovision Song Contest. He is originally from Ukraine, but he was forced to relocate to Rochester in 1989 owing to his treatment at the Mayo Clinic. He had already grown to a height of six feet at the time.

Vovkovinskiy’s height was caused by a tumor pressing on his pituitary gland, producing excessive growth hormone output.
He weighed 11 pounds when he was born, and within a year, he had grown to 3 feet and 50 pounds. By the time he was seven years old, he was 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 219 pounds. We don’t have his most recent weight because no mainstream media outlet reported it online.

Igor Vovkovinskiy was 27 years old when he became the tallest man in the United States. He beat the previous record-holder, Virginia deputy sheriff George Bell, by one-third of an inch. He said that he needed life-saving cardiac surgery but was unsure whether or not he would survive the procedure. On August 18, 2021, the tallest living man made a video on YouTube stating that he need surgery to correct a medical issue he was born with. The tallest man, 37, went into tears, stating he didn’t know what would happen in the following few hours since he would be hospitalized, and he didn’t know how long he would be hospitalized.
Surgery
He was unsure whether he would survive the surgery because he had never seen such a large man undergo such a procedure. He had a pituitary tumor in the brain that was severely impacting his pituitary gland. The pituitary gland was in charge of secreting the growth hormone that allowed him to grow to this height. Because of the difficulty of operating on such a large guy, the tumor could not be removed, which meant that he would continue to grow, as indicated by his medical conditions. He also admitted that he had no idea what would happen in the coming days or months, let alone the remainder of his life.
Cause of Death for Igor Vovkovinskiy
In 2019, he stated on his YouTube channel that he was undergoing heart surgery. He was later hospitalized for heart problems and died on August 20, 2021, at the age of 38. He already knew he wouldn’t make it through the operation! According to his mother and brother, he died as a result of heart disease.
Just moments before his death, he spent time with his brother’s family and had his final meal, which included Kyiv cake and Fanta. According to his Facebook page, he came to Rochester in 1989 due to his condition. He was born with pituitary gigantism, a rare illness that he mentioned in a statement while filming “The Dr. Oz Show” in 2010.
