All Free Games You Can Get in September 2024

Looking for a full list of free games you can get this month? Look no further, as we’ll be taking a look at all of the free games releasing on major platforms like Game Pass and PS Plus, along with a peek at some upcoming free-to-play games on PC and mobile devices.

All Free Games You Can Get in September 2024

As noted above, we’ll be taking a look at the following platforms and services for all the free games that will be made available this month:

  • Xbox Game Pass
  • Xbox Games With Gold
  • PS Plus
  • Prime Gaming
  • Epic Games Store
  • Free-to-play games on Steam and mobile

Aside from the free releases on PC and mobile, the rest of these titles will be time-gated, meaning that you’ll only be able to claim them this month before the deal expires. So if you’re subscribed to either Game Pass, PS Plus, or Prime, make sure to claim them quickly before you miss out on this opportunity.

Xbox Games With Gold

  • Gods Will Fall
  • Double Kick Heroes
  • Thrillville
  • Portal 2

Not a lot of attractive offerings here if we’re being honest, but if you’re a Gold subscriber and you, for some reason, haven’t played Portal 2 yet, play Portal 2. With iconic characters like GLaDOS and the cube, and lots of fun and unique puzzles to tackle, there’s a lot to look forward to here.

Gods Will Fall is also up for grabs, which is a fairly decent hack-and-slash roguelike that will help pass the time.

  • Disney Dreamlight Valley
  • Train Sim World 3
  • You Suck at Parking
  • Outer Wilds
  • Beacon Pines
  • Slime Rancher 2
  • Grounded
  • Moonscars

On the flip side, Microsoft’s other big subscription service continues to offer up some of the best value you can get in gaming right now.

A couple of early access hits like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Slime Rancher 2 will be added this month, and Grounded is also finally getting its 1.0 release. Outer Wilds and Grid Legends are also getting added to the catalogue, so if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’re pretty much set for the month.

PS Plus

Deathloop
  • Need for Speed Heat
  • Granblue Fantasy: Versus
  • Toem
  • Deathloop
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Watch Dogs 2
  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
  • Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition
  • Chicory: A Colorful Tale
  • Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame
  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX
  • Rabbids Invasion: The Interactive TV Show
  • Rayman Legends
  • Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition
  • Syphon Filter 2
  • The Sly Collection
  • Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
  • Bentley’s Hackpack
  • Toy Story 3
  • Kingdom of Paradise

July 2024 is looking like a fairly decent month for PS Plus subscribers too, but with a big caveat: regular tier members will only get Need for Speed, Granblue Fantasy, and Toem. The rest of the games are for Extra and Premium members.

That being said, those Extra and Premium offerings are extremely attractive. We have Deathloop, Watch Dogs 2, and even Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition. Those are all very solid games that are absolutely worth playing if you haven’t already.

There are a couple of other high profile games like Shadow of Mordor, as well as some indie highlights like Defend the Rook.

Epic Games Store

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Submerged: Hidden Depths
  • Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator

The Epic Games Store has been stepping up their game in terms of monthly free offerings as well. For September 2024, some notable releases include Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Hundred Days.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in particular, won’t remain free for too long. You’ll have until Sept. 8 to redeem it, so make sure to snag it while you can.

Free Games on Steam

duck paradox

As always, there are a ton of free games constantly releasing on Steam, but we’ve picked out some of the notable ones here:

  • Instant War (July 8)
  • Duck Paradox (July 8)
  • Burning Requiem: Fates (July 2024)
  • Barista: Take Away (July 2024)

Despite its extremely bland title, Instant War looks to be a fairly decent 4X grand strategy game that will definitely appeal to fans of Civilization, Humankind, and the early access Dune: Spice Wars. Duck Paradox is another one that caught our eye, as players are tasked with protecting their pet duck whil making their way through a 2D side-scrolling universe decked out with eye-catching black and neon lights.

And, well, more games with ducks and geese are always welcome.

That does it for all the free games you can get this month. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more game-related coverage and news.
