Fallout 4 features many different ways for you to defeat your enemies. You could always a normal gun or melee weapon to get the job done. If you want to be creative, use the Fatman to launch a nuke at those pesky raiders. The only problem is that a Fatman is not easy to find. An easy alternative is a grenade. They’re easy to find and can do a lot of damage. That’s why in this guide, we’ll show you how to throw a grenade in Fallout 4.

How to Throw Grenades

In Fallout 4, grenades can be cooked and thrown at enemies. Cooking a grenade is effective as throwing it right as it’s about to explode will guarantee a direct hit. To cook a grenade, first equip one from your Pip-Boy. Next, aim the crosshair at your target. Hold down the right shoulder button console or Alt on PC to begin cooking the grenade. Once you hear a click, throw the grenade. The click indicates that it will explode very soon if you continue to hold the button down.

You throw the grenade by letting go of the shoulder button. You can just throw a grenade without cooking it by tapping the shoulder button on console or Alt on PC. Before you throw a grenade, watch your environment. A grenade may be small but if it explodes near a gas tank, you may get killed.

Grenades in Fallout 4 can either be found in the open world, purchased at a vendor, or crafted at a workbench. Each crafted grenade has its own unique set of required materials.
