Before actually getting started on the task at hand, it’s time to figure out what the given clue means.

Forza Horizon 5 Speed Machines Treasure Hunt Clue

Here is the clue that is given to players:

“German sport hares are lightning fast, splitting any zone in three”

The German part helps narrow things down a bit and it should already be clear that you would be heading out in a speedy vehicle. After all, speed is in the name of this Treasure Hunt.

That clue definitely helps narrow things down a bit since getting three stars in a speed zone is straightforward. On the other hand, it’s a bit ambiguous since there are plenty of fast German cars to choose from. Fortunately, you can match up the background image of the clue to a vehicle that’s available in the Autoshow to determine it’s the Volkswagen Golf GTI 1983. Better yet, it can even be purchased for 20,000 credits from there if you don’t own one yet.

Now in the GTI, it’ll be tempting to just go finish whatever tasks need to be done for the Treasure Hunt. However, we suggest making some upgrades to the vehicle so it can hit the speeds it’ll need for what’s up ahead. Any upgrades that will get this GTI going fast enough to rack up three stars in a single Speed Zone will do.

Once that’s done, then it’s time to burn rubber and complete the treasure hunt by getting three stars in a single Speed Zone. Accumulating stars across multiple zones won’t cut it. You need to get the top speed for a single zone to succeed here.

Right after getting three stars in a single Speed Zone, an orange marker will appear on the map to indicate where the treasure chest is. The exact location is the purple marker in the image below.

All that’s left to do is drive through the chest, picking up three series points and 100 Forzathon points in the process.

That’s all there is to know about how to complete Speed Machines Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 5. If you’re running low on credits and don’t have the GTI that’s needed for this treasure hunt, then we suggest saving up 20,000 before beginning Speed Machines.
