How to Beat All Bosses, Rewards, & More

If you’re looking for a full breakdown of the Desolate Lands mode in Dislyte, we’ve got you covered on that front.

Added to the game with the Bloody Hunt update, Desolate Lands is an endgame PvE mode that’s designed to give players a bit more control over how they want to upgrade their Relics. Do note that this mode does require quite a bit of team preparation, so if you’re still relatively new to Dislyte, feel free to bookmark this page and come back later once you have at least six Espers with good enhanced Relics.

All Bosses in Dislyte Desolate Lands

There are a total of four bosses available in Desolate Lands, and we’ve listed them below:

  • Shadowfire
  • Shadowgale
  • Shadowstream
  • Shadowmother (unlocked at a future date, once you’ve hit S rank for the other three bosses)

Each boss is tied to a different element. For instance, Shadow Fire is Inferno-attuned, Shadow Gale is Wind-attuned, while Shadow Stream is Flow-attuned. While elemental boons and weaknesses aren’t really that big of a deal in Dislyte, it’s still good to keep them in mind when building your teams. These bosses also have different mechanics for you to take note of, and it’s important to figure out how to complete those mechanics in order to get the highest possible score.

How to Get S Rank and Above

The rewards you get from Desolate Lands are based on your score ranking at the end of the fight. Big shoutout to Reddit user ParallelHorizon who’s helped to compile data for the scoring ranks, as listed below:

Rank Score Required
F 0
C 50,000
B 200,000
A 600,000
A+ 1,500,000
S 2,000,000
SS 3,000,000
SSS 4,000,000

Dealing 4,000,000 damage to a boss might sound like an insurmountable goal, and it probably is even for the most hardcore players. However, the trick to getting a good score in Desolate Lands is to pay attention to a special mechanic in each boss fight in order to trigger a high score multiplier.

Each boss has a key mechanic that you need to take note of, and as long as you’re able to play around that mechanic properly, you’ll be able to get up to x16 for your score multiplier, ensuring that you’ll hit S rank comfortably at the very least.

Below, we’ll go over the strategies for each boss fight, as well as the mechanics that you need to keep in mind during combat.

Shadowfire

Shadowfire will likely be the first Desolate Lands boss that most players attempt in Dislyte, and here are the key factors that will help you win the fight:

  • Put your characters with the highest DEF in the front lines.
  • Fill out your back lines with four DPS characters, and try to make sure they all have AoE capabilities.
  • Focus on the adds.

Midway through the fight, Shadowfire will cast Flamelight Wheel, which summons six Fiery Eyes adds. Once this happens, have all of your DPS characters focus on taking down the adds as quickly as possible. Failing to beat the adds will cause Shadowfire’s next attack to deal even more damage, and potentially wipe the party.

In addition to that, taking out the adds will ensure that you get a higher score multiplier once the boss is stunned. Like all Desolate Lands bosses, you’re aiming to get at least the x8 or x16 multiplier to comfortably hit S rank and above, so make sure to take the adds out above all else.

Key Mechanic: Once the Fiery Eyes spawn, have your DPS characters take them out as quickly as possible. The more adds you kill, the higher your score multiplier will be.

Shadowgale

The fight against Shadowgale isn’t too bad, though you do need to keep a few things in mind:

  • Put your characters with the highest DEF in the front lines.
  • Fill out your back lines with four DPS characters.
  • Make sure you have at least one, if not two cleansers.

The core mechanic for Shadowgale is the Wind Chain debuff. Towards the end of the fight, Shadowgale will hit the party hard with Wind Chain, and its next attack will deal increased damage depending on how many stacks of Wind Chain each character has.

Before the final attack, you’ll want to cleanse as many of the Wind Chain debuffs as possible. Healers like Clara and Heng Yue will be very useful for this, though Ye Suhua can also fill in by giving one character Invincibility before the Wind Chains hit. Having controllers and booster characters on your team can also help with increasing your Speed and AP while delaying Shadowgale’s turn, giving you plenty of time to cleanse before its next attack.

The more Wind Chains you manage to cleanse, the higher your score multiplier will be after the next attack. After Shadow Gale hits you, you’ll then have the opportunity to deal as much damage as possible, and that will get multiplied by whatever score multiplier you managed to get after the Wind Chains. Try to aim for the x8 multiplier at the very least to ensure an easy S rank.

As long as you manage to survive its final attack with at least one Esper, you’ll be in the clear.

Key Mechanic: Once inflicted with Wind Chains, have your cleanser Espers like Clara or Heng Yue cleanse as much as possible to get rid of Wind Chains. The more debuffs you cleanse, the higher your score multiplier will be.

Shadowstream

Shadowstream is a Flow-attuned boss in Desolate Lands, and the strategy for this fight is much more reliant on Speed and AP manipulation. Here are the key takeaways:

  • Put your characters with the highest DEF in the front lines.
  • Fill out your back lines with a mix of single-target DPS and controller characters.
  • Boost your Speed as much as possible.

Midway through the fight, Shadowstream will cast Burst Nimbus, which inflicts all characters with five stacks of Venom Smear. You’ll have two turns before Impact Storm, which detonates all Venom Smear stacks and increases damage dealt based on how many stacks are left.

The tricky thing about this fight is that the debuffs can’t be cleansed; instead, each debuff is cleansed whenever your character takes a turn. This means that it’s incredibly important for your characters to quickly cycle through turns so that they can get rid of as many debuffs as possible.

This is where your controller characters come into play –characters like Lucas and Dhalia will excel here, as Lucas has AP absorption, while Dhalia can increase your party’s speed. Clara is a little less effective in this fight, but Hymn of Life will increase the entire party’s AP if it’s off cooldown. The more Venom Smear stacks you manage to clear, the higher your score multiplier will be.

Key Mechanic: Once inflicted with Venom Smear, boost your Speed and try to get in as many turns as possible to get rid of those debuffs. The more debuffs you get rid of, the higher the score multiplier.

Rewards and Drop Rates

As mentioned previously, the higher your scoring rank, the better the drop rates will be. Listed below are the drop rates you can expect for each rank:

  • SSS: Rare 35%, Epic 55%, Legendary 10%
  • SS: Rare 55%, Epic 38%, Legendary 7%
  • S: Rare 70%, Epic 26%, Legendary 4%
  • A+: Rare 80%, Epic 20%
  • A: Uncommon 30%, Rare 60%, Epic 10%
  • B: Uncommon 50%, Rare 50%
  • C: Uncommon 100%

In addition to that, each boss drops Boost Stones for different sets of Relics. Here’s what you can potentially get from each one:

Boss Boost Stone Types
Shadowfire War Machine, Wind Walker, Astral Witchcraft, Master Grove, Stoneveins, Apollo’s Bow
Shadowgale Hades, Abiding Panacea, Ocean Waves, Fiery Incandescence, Sword Avatara, Adamantine
Shadowstream Hammer of Thor, Tyranny of Zeus, Snow Dowager, Immensus Peak, The Enchanter, The Light Above
