Golden State Warriors eliminates the Denver Nuggets; Progresses to the…

The Golden State Warriors closed out the series against the Denver Nuggets with a win in Game 5 at home.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets by a score of 102-98, in game 4 of their ongoing first-round series in the Western Conference Playoffs. Warriors have progressed to the 2nd round of the playoffs, following this win as they won the series 4-1 against the Nuggets.

They will face the winner between Memphis and Minnesota in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. Unsurprisingly, they will be the favorites no matter who their opponent will be in the 2nd round.

Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors in game 5 at home. He ended up scoring 30 points and was crucial for his team during the clutch.

Apart from Curry, Klay Thompson and Gary Payton Jr. also made good contributions as well. Both of them were solid on defense and ended up scoring 15 points each.

The Warriors are undoubtedly the favorites to win it all this year. However, they still have to win 12 more games to achieve that target.

Nikola Jokic’s valiant effort goes in vain once again

The Denver Nuggets throughout the season were left short-handed due to injuries to their star players Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.

However, Nikola Jokic, the reigning MVP of the NBA carried the team on his back and made sure that they qualify for the playoffs. Coming into the playoffs, and facing the Warriors was no easy task for Jokic and the Nuggets.

Even with Jokic performing at an MVP level, the Warriors were just quite better than the Nuggets. In the 5th game of the series, Jokic ended up with 30 points, 19 rebounds, and 8 assists, a stat line that reflects why he is tipped to be crowned as the MVP of the league once again.

The Denver Nuggets will be back strong next year with Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and Nikola Jokic playing together for the first time in almost 2 years.
