Building on the blueprint its predecessor made popular, Ghost Recon Breakpoint emerged from the shadows as an open-world stealth game with big potential. It’s taken time for the full vision to come of age, but bolstered by new updates it’s definitely a much-improved package from launch. But can you experience the action with friends on different systems? Here’s everything you need to know about whether Ghost Recon Breakpoint is crossplay.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint can certainly be played solo, but you won’t be getting the best out of it. This is a game that really feels at its best when played with others. But it does require a fair bit of coordination and so you’re best playing the game with people you can trust to take it seriously.
Is Ghost Recon Breakpoint Crossplay? Answered
Unfortunately, no. Three years on from its launch and crossplay is still not a supported featured in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. If you have friends who don’t own the same gaming platform as you, you won’t be able to link up.
This is despite crossplay having been a talking point early on in the game’s lifecycle, with Ubisoft stating in an interview with MMORPG.com that it might be something that’s patched into the game further down the line.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint Creative Director Eric Couzian said:
We have big plans for post-launch. So there will be plenty of Episodes, a new Class, everything. Of all the subjects, this one, cross-play, is part of them. So you will get news later on this.
Sadly, that hasn’t occurred and doesn’t seem likely to given how much time has passed without any word since.
