The attack got here as Iran and its allies in Iraq marked the
second anniversary of the assassination of high Iranian basic Qassem
Soleimani.
Soleimani was killed in a drone strike close to Baghdad airport
ordered by then-US president Donald Trump.
Commenting on the attack, an official of theUS-led
worldwide navy coalition stated the base’s defence system had engaged
“two fixed-wing suicide drones. They have been shot down with out
incident”.
“This was a harmful attack on a civilian
airport,” the coalition official stated in a short assertion.
There was no rapid declare of accountability for the
attack. Armed teams that some Iraqi officers say are backed by Iran have
claimed accountability for comparable incidents up to now.
