BNP drops Taimur Alam Khandaker from advisory council after mayoral run

A letter to the impact, signed by the occasion’s Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has been despatched to Khandaker by particular service.

“His name has been dropped from the Advisory Council to the BNP Chairperson,” Rizvi mentioned. “This is a party decision.”

The letter didn’t point out a cause for his removing.

However, a central chief of the occasion mentioned:

“Taimur Alam Khandaker did not follow the party’s decision. The party has decided not to participate in any national or local government elections under this current government. Despite this, and being a senior party leader, he decided to run for Narayanganj City Corporation mayor as an independent candidate. For this reason, his name has been removed from the position.”

Taimur Alam Khandaker grew to become a member of the advisory council in 2016, following the occasion’s sixth National Conference.
