Character collection is a huge part of gacha games and is often seen as the one aspect that can make or break the entire experience. So if you’re wondering if you can summon characters in Tower of Fantasy, here’s what you need to know.
Tower of Fantasy is a new shared open-world RPG from Hotta Studio, and while it might look similar to something like Genshin Impact, there’s a much stronger multiplayer focus in this game which could appeal to different types of players.
Can You Summon Characters in Tower of Fantasy?
The short answer is, yes, you can indeed summon characters in Tower of Fantasy, but not necessarily in the way that you’d expect.
The gacha system in Tower of Fantasy is mainly centered around weapons. Whenever you spend your Nucleus pulling on a banner, you’re often pulling for weapons. However, SR and SSR weapons do come with a character skin that you can then equip. These character skins are purely cosmetic and have no bearing on gameplay, but if you get tired of running around as the original character you created at the start of the game, these skins can help to freshen things up.
Aside from that, though, the main draw of Tower of Fantasy is the weapons. With how the combat is designed, you’ll be able to equip three weapons at once and swap between them in battle to chain up combos and other synergies. There’s no party system in place, unless you get into the multiplayer content.
In addition to that, R weapons do not come with character skins. So if you’re just looking to collect cosmetics, you’ll need to pull the SRs and SSRs. Before pulling on a banner, you can click on the More Info tab to check the available weapons.
If a weapon has a character portrait next to it, that means you’ll be able to unlock a character skin when you pull it.
How to Change Character Skins
To change your character’s appearance, hit Esc to bring up the menu and select the Simulacra option.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a list of all the weapon skins you’ve unlocked so far. All you have to do is select the one your want to equip, click on the Activate option, and you’re good to go.
