In this article, we are going to take a look at the matches that have been already announced for WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view – WrestleMania Backlash. Also, we would be looking at a couple of matches that might be announced on the card in the coming weeks.

Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins

This was arguably the best match of this year’s WrestleMania. The Bianca Belair versus Becky Lynch match is also right up there. Rhodes and Rollins are wonderfully gifted athletes with brilliant knowledge of the sport. At WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes was the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins. Therefore, there wasn’t any build-up yet they produced a spectacular match which Cody won eventually.

This time, however, they have a few weeks in hand to build up to another classic at WrestleMania Backlash. This week on RAW, Rhodes was the special guest on The Miz TV and he said he had no problems with Rollins. The American Nightmare also stated that he was willing to give Rollins a rematch anytime.

Later in the night, Cody defeated The Miz in a one-on-one match. After the bout ended, Rollins challenged Cody to a rematch which the latter accepted in a jiffy.

Charlotte Flair (c) versus Ronda Rousey – “I Quit Match” for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Charlotte Flair stole a victory from Ronda Rousey on the Night 1 of WrestleMania 38. The champion went for the Figure 8 but Ronda pushed her as the Queen collided with the referee, taking him out.

Ronda made Charlotte tap out to the armbar but the referee missed it as he was still down on the mat. As Ronda tried to get the referee back to consciousness, Charlotte took advantage landing a big boot to secure the victory.

Last week on SmackDown, an irate Rousey came out to the ring and challenged Flair to an “I Quit” match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and it was later made official.

RK-Bro versus The Usos – Tag Team Title Unification Match

Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania to become the Unified WWE Universal Champion. Last week on SmackDown he laid out the next target for The Bloodline. He demanded The Usos go to RAW and capture the RAW Tag Team Championships from RK-Bro and unify the RAW and SmackDown Tag Titles in the process. The Usos are SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

This week on RAW, The Usos appeared following the orders of the Head of the Table. They challenged RK-Bro to a Title Unification match. However, The Street Profits interrupted accusing The Usos of cutting the line. Randy Orton pitched the idea of The Street Profits taking on The Usos in the main event of RAW and the match was made official.

The Usos won the scintillating match and later on attacked Orton and finished the show holding both the RAW and SmackDown Tag titles above their shoulders.

This week on SmackDown, the Tag Team Championship Unification Match was made official and it would take place at WrestleMania Backlash. In the main event of SmackDown, Riddle defeated Jimmy Uso but the rivalry is just getting started as WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view is still a few weeks away.

Edge versus AJ Styles

Two of the greatest superstars of WWE will have another brawl at WrestleMania Backlash as the match was made official this week on RAW.

The self-proclaimed “judge” of WWE has shown a sinister side of himself from the time his feud began with AJ Styles. This week on RAW, Edge challenged AJ Styles to a match at WrestleMania Backlash. The Rated-R Superstar called it the “Judgement day” for Styles.

Later in the night, Styles was being interviewed backstage when the lights flickered and turned blue as Styles was surrounded by Edge and his henchman Damien Priest. The heel duo assaulted Styles and left him writhing in pain. This rivalry has certainly built up steam and both Edge and Styles are expected to deliver another intriguing match. Let’s just hope Priest doesn’t interfere during the match.

Madcap Moss versus Happy Corbin

From best of friends to formidable foes, this story has changed direction in a quick time. Happy Corbin found an ally in Madcap Moss when the former WWE United States Champion was going through a lean patch in the company.

After the duo formed a partnership, they found success and were doing decently on the mid-card as heels until Madcap won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal on WrestleMania SmackDown and Corbin lost to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 38.

Corbin blamed Madcap for the loss on an episode of “Happy Talk” on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 38. To make matters worse, Corbin blindsided Moss attacking him from behind and putting the final nail in the coffin as far as their friendship was concerned.

Last week on SmackDown, Moss won a match against Angel Garza and was attacked by Corbin as he was celebrating. After the assault, the Lone Wolf absconded with the Andre the Giant Memorial trophy that Moss won.

On the latest episode of Talking Smack, it was made official that Madcap Moss will be facing Happy Corbin at WrestleMania Backlash.

Bobby Lashley versus Omos

Bobby Lashley returned just before WrestleMania 38 and became the first person to take Omos off his feet. At WrestleMania 38, the Almighty defeated the Colossus in a physical battle.

On the RAW after WrestleMania, MVP returned and betrayed Lashley and joined forces with Omos. MVP wasn’t happy that Lashley didn’t feel his need at WrestleMania.

This week Lashley beat Omos in an arm-wrestling match but after the victory, Omos assaulted the former WWE champion as MVP and kept instructing the big man.

On RAW Talk, the WrestleMania rematch was made official for WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view.
