But of course, we also can’t forget the enemy that Goku faced off against at that time, Frieza. Today we will discuss whether Frieza will get a new transformation in Dragonball Super.

Spoiler alert: this article contains minor spoilers, so read on with caution.

Does Frieza Get A New Transformation In Dragonball Super?

In Dragonball Super, we have already seen Frieza come back into the mix and unveil a new transformation, Golden Frieza. But in the latest Dragonball Super manga chapter, chapter 87, Frieza reveals a brand new form, Black Frieza. Chapter 87 would be the eventual conclusion of the ongoing “Granolah Arc” in the manga, and of course, as a proper send-off, Frieza appears and “one shots” Goku and Vegeta in his new form. He left them alive, however, since they weren’t his objective at the time, and Frieza would fly away shortly after.

At this moment, it is unclear what Frieza’s current objective is, but it’s probably nothing good. If we had to guess, however, it might have to do with possibly overthrowing the Omni-King, Zeno, as he stated in the Tournament of Power, he vows to do so one day.

How does Frieza become Black Frieza? Answered

Technically, we last saw Frieza fly off after the events of the Dragonball Super: Broly movie. Since then, we had no idea what he was up to during the events of the Moro Arc and the majority of the Granolah Arc until now. Frieza stated on one of his conquered worlds, lied a chamber where time flowed differently. Vegeta said that sounds reminiscent of the Time Chamber on earth, where one day in the real world is equated to one year in the chamber. Frieza would then state he had trained for ten years inside the room until he finally unlocked his new form.

Currently, the Dragonball Super Manga is on a one-month hiatus to prepare for the next upcoming arc. We do not know the details as to what this new arc will bring, but we will likely see Frieza return as the main antagonist. We’ll be sure to provide all of the information once the details of the new arc are revealed in the future.

That’s all for now about whether Frieza will get a new transformation in Dragonball Super.
