Bart Starr

Bart Starr, a former professional American football quarterback, was also a well-known coach. During his career, he played collegiate football for the University of Alabama. His pick by the Green Bay Packers was advantageous because he played for them in the 17th round of the NFL draft in 1956 and remained with them until 1971.

Furthermore, he was the only quarterback in NFL history to lead a team to three straight league titles. He was instrumental in his team’s first two Super Bowl victories, I and II. Starr, the league’s Most Valuable Player, was selected to four Pro Bowls and was named MVP in 1966. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Packers Hall of Fame in 1977. Then, in 1972, he retired as the best player in the NFL.
