CM Punk is a legend of pro wrestling and is currently signed to AEW where he is in the middle of a feud with “Hangman” Adam Page for the latter’s AEW World Championship.

The former WWE Superstar has had some great matches in AEW with some of the best talents on the roster. The likes of MJF, Dustin Rhodes, Penta Oscura, and many more have tasted defeat upon facing Punk inside the squared circle.

However, there is another terrific wrestler that Punk has defeated this year and he hailed him as the best wrestler of the year so far. That wrestler is none other than Dax Harwood, who is one-half of the ROH and AAA World Tag Team Champions.

Harwood lost an Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Quarterfinal match against Adam Cole. The former NXT Champion made Harwood tap out to a Sharpshooter to progress to the semi-finals.

Harwood put out an emotional tweet after the loss, saying that he has less than an ideal body and the fans should not like him but he is very happy that they do.

“I’m just a 5’10 North Carolinian with a less than ideal body. Y’all shouldn’t like me, but I’m damn sure happy y’all do. I went to failure tonight; but I didn’t fail.”

CM Punk retweeted this and mentioned Harwood as the best wrestler of 2024 so far. The FTR member has certainly had some great matches this year. Wins have not been easy to come by for him as a singles competitor but it does not change the fact that he is one of the most technically adept wrestlers in pro wrestling at the moment.
